Introduction
Markdown Vault is a cloud-based service to enable you to publish your collections of markdown documents for offline reading in a dedicated iOS app.
It's free to use for your first vault, or available as a paid subscription if you require additional vaults (or some features such as password access).
If you use Obsidian to write, you can publish your collection with a single click using the available plugin.
How it Works¶
- You create a vault on Markdown Vault. This generates a sharing link which is what you'll distribute to people who want to read your content.
- Upload your markdown content. You can do this using the website, or by installing a plugin in Obsidian.
- Users who click on the sharing link will be able to install the Markdown Vault iOS app, which will launch with your content ready to read.
Getting Started¶
- Visit Markdown Vault and sign up (or log in if you already have an account).
- Select Vaults on the left-hand side
- Click Add Vault to create a new vault. Give it a name and description.
- Notice the Sharing Link for the vault. This is what you're going to share with your readers.
- There are several ways to upload content to your vault, including:
- Uploading content using the web interface
- Uploading content using the Obsidian plugin
